Cottica Adventures & Training Services (CATS), jungle Survival School, is an eco-tourism organization specialized in professional Jungle Survival Training, Consulting and Jungle Expedition Guiding, based in Paramaribo, Suriname, South-America. We are registered in the business directory of the Suriname Chamber of Commerce under the number 45309.

The team leader of CATS is, U.S. Special Forces and Brazilian Army trained Survival and Jungle warfare Specialist, also a Survival Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (S.E.R.E.) instructor for the  Special Forces of the Surinamese Armed Forces, Lieutenant 1^st class, Edson Cairo. He is also a U.S. Special Forces licensed Parachutist.

As a Detachment Commander for the Special Forces in the Surinamese National Army, he Served in many classified military operations behind enemy lines during a Guerilla War in the late 80's. After the peace treaty he conducted several Search and Rescue operations in the Surinamese jungle.

He now combines his army survival skills with the survival skills of his ancestors, the Maroons of the Aucan or Ndyuka tribe to teach adventure tourists how to survive in the jungle.

All instructors received an additional training from our Chief instructor, Lt. 1^st Class Edson Cairo. The skills we teach have been learned and lived by all instructors at Cottica Adventures & Training Services. Our instructors, all Maroons and Amerindians have a vast and diverse knowledge of survival topics and are always excited to share this knowledge of their ancestors with others. 

Maroon School of Jungle Survival (M.S.J.S.) is the branch of Cottica Adventures & Training Services, concerned with Maroon Jungle Survival courses. The Chief instructor for these courses is Mr. Andre Pinas, a Master in Aucan Jungle Survival and the Aucan Culture. The Aucans are a Maroon tribe living in the interior (hinterland) of Suriname. The courses at  Maroon School of Jungle Survival focus solely on Maroon culture based primitive survival skills and techniques. Mr. Andre Pinas has a vast knowledge of the Maroon culture, including survival, spirituality, religion and Maroon medicine.

Our mission is to offer you the most comprehensive and highest quality professional jungle survival training in the rich and pristine tropical rainforest of Suriname.

We offer more then twenty years army jungle survival experience and a lifetime of Maroon survival.
